Babes in the Wood break cover….
Three female drivers, Amanda Cornforth, Jayne Auden, and Shelley Taunt have come together under the team banner of Babes in the Wood to launch a team attack on the BTRDA Rally series.
At the first BTRDA event, The Wyedean Stages Rally, held over the weekend of 12th February all three drivers claimed finishes in an event where over 40 competitors failed to reach the finish line.
First past the post was the all girl pairing of Shelley Taunt and Julie Murphy, their Subaru Impreza finishing 58th from the 180 starters, next was Jayne Auden in her Green Pug, who took a third in class sharing with Dad David. Amanda Cornforth also teamed up with her father Derek her Ford Ka finishing 5th in class.
So a promising debut with more to come from the three babes.

Susie’s new Mercedes
Susie Stoddart has made a team switch from Comtech to Mucke Motorsport. This means that for 2006 Susie will be running in the highly prestigious DTM German Touring Car Championship. The move away from the World Series by Renault into the high profile tin top series was we understand completely amicable.
Susie will be entering the prestige events in a 2004 spec Mercedes C Class saloon, with expected spectator audiences of over 80,000 people, Susie will be hoping to demonstrate why she is the new ‘Queen of Scots.’
Susie will not be the only female entering the series this year. Also running a 2004 spec car, the redoubtedly quick and experienced Vanina Ickx will be racing for Audi. So the DTM gains a double helping of feminine talent from which it has suffered a dearth since Ellen Lohr bowed out of the series almost 10 years ago.

Gemma Price has deal for the season.
Featuring in the results of the Wyedean stages was former B.W.R.D.C. co-drivers champion Gemma Price. Sharing with Silverstone Rally School graduate Clare Rhodes, the team finished sixth in class, in their MGZR.
Gemma we believe will take the passenger seat alongside Clare for the remainder of the BTRDA season, as the novice continues to progress through the championship. For what is her first event Clare put in an excellent performance and with the talented and experienced Gemma alongside her we can expect to see her progress up the leader board in the coming months.
